Happy Mother's Day Part 1

<

In honor of Mother's Day, I thought I would blog about Mothers all week long. Won't that be fun?

Do you ever watch TV and think boy I wish she was my mother or do you wish you were a mother like that? (I have to say I never thought to myself about having any other mother then the one I have.) I do think about sitcom moms and say I wish I could be that way or not be that way. So I thought I would share with you some of my favorite TV moms for good or bad.

I always loved Roseanne's sense of humor, whether she was having a good or bad day. I still watch her show on TV Land when I can't sleep in the middle of the night and think to myself I need to remember that line. I love how she betrayed a real mom by wearing the clothes she wore. I think for one season she wore a rooster shirt.

/a>Claire Huxtable is one of my all time favorite TV moms. I loved that she was a successful lawyer, had a great marriage to Cliff, and always had time for her five children. I always wanted to be one of those families that put on musical skits that the Huxtable's did when it was a special occasion. Really who didn't want to be a Huxtable? I still watch this show and think I want to be a Huxtable they are so much fun!!

Loralai Gilmore is the type of mother I would like to be to my kids. I loved the relationship that Loralai and Rory had. They could talk about anything. They would talk for hours and hours and still have more to say. I loved the traditions that they shared. I loved that they had their own secret language! What a fun mother and daughter relationship. I think that if I had a relationship like this with my Little Toots it would drive Tommy to leave us.

Ok, who didn't want to be June Cleaver? She always dressed so nicely, wore an apron, and still wore her pearls. She was always so patient with her kids and husband. June always had dinner on the table when Ward walked in the door from work. I have to admit that sometimes I wear an apron while wearing pearls and think I'm June!! I will even sometimes try to have dinner on the table when Tommy walks in the door.

I saved the best mom for last!!! Marie Barone, she raised two boys had a husband who appeared to detest her and still managed to keep her family close by. Her son Ray lives right across the street and her son Robbie lives with her. How did she swing this? I sometimes tell Tommy I want our kids to live across the street from us when they get older and he laughs at me. I say that I want to be just like Marie. I also look at her and think thank God my mother in law in not like her. Marie has to be the worst mother in law EVER. She comes to Deborah's house all the time un-announced, goes thru their mail, and always complains about Deborah's house keeping. Can you imagine??

Again, these are just some on my favorite sitcom Moms that I wanted to share with you!!

Who is your favorite TV Mom?

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Love and Hugs,

Janine

I love your theme this week! I'm very excited for my first mothers day and this is making it feel so close!

My fave TV mother is either the mom from My-So-Called life or from that 70s Show... although the one I'd most want to be like is Claire Huxtable by FAR. She always knew exactly what to say, how to make every moment teachable and funny.
