Volunteer Work

I decided that the kids are at an age where we could start giving back to society by volunteering.

I really thought about it for a while to think of where would be the best place for us to volunteer. I also wanted it to be someplace safe.

One place kept coming to mind... Saint Anne Villa. (The place I use to work).

I believe that without these remarkable ladies praying for me and Tommy that I would not have these beautiful children.  Their incredible insurance plan helped too. Hahaha!!!

On Friday the kids and I headed to the Villa to spend two hours visiting the Sisters of Charity. They love kids so imagine how happy they were to see us.

I also love going there because it's such a peaceful and loving place.

Getting ready to go visit the Sisters.

Stopping to visit the birds. Oh how I hated when I had to take care of these birds!!

This is the face that those nuns loved!! They LOVE boys!!!

Sister Ceil she is one of the activity assistants that worked for me. She is the best Activity Assistant that I ever saw working with dementia residents. She is truly a God's blessing to these ladies!!

Ballerina putting on a little show of her own for the nuns.

The Sisters exercising with one of the best entertainers out there,[ Gerry Caban. He not only does exercise programs with residents but he puts on Broadway shows at Nursing Homes, Skilled Nursing facilities, and Assistant Living facilities.

Sister Ceil and Speed Racer having a great conversation about cars and trucks.

Now I thought I would give you a little tour of my old office.

This is my old office. I wish I could tell you that this is unusually messy but the Activities Department is always BUSY!!!

This was my desk. My desk was always organized because I couldn't stand having a mess!! Josie had me help her with something and I sat down at my desk and felt like I never left!!!

My old bulletin. The Director of Activities has a lot of paper work and planning.

All my old resources that I bought in or had the Villa by for us!!!

This is where we store all of our paper work and files of residents.

My old family with my new family. We are missing one co-worker who recently retired and Tommy was at work!!

It was great being back there!! I do miss my old job and friends, but I know that I would have missed the past 4 years of being home with the kiddies!!

We look forward to going back soon to volunteer!!

I hope you are having a great weekend!!
