North Wing Update

I realized the other day that I have posted about the North Wing in awhile.

If you are just joining us you can read about it here.

The month has been a slow progress. I can tell you that I HATE spackling and sanding!!!!

But we are still working on the North Wing. Since my Dad and I only work on it on Fridays for a few hours we are making good progress!!!

This past Friday was very exciting for me. When we had our house built I wanted two things; a slop sink and a garbage disposable. With our sewer system we can't have a garbage disposable and for some reason it would have cost a lot of money to put a slop sink in the basement.

When Tommy and I decided that we were going to renovate our garage I said one thing I want is a slop sink. Guess what it was hooked up this past week! Can I get a woo hoo?!?!?!

Here are some photos of the garage today (actually my room)

My sink!!

Isn't she beautiful?

The water coming out!!!

We had to drain the water in the bucket because my Dad bought the wrong sized fitting.

Taking measurements for the sheet rock.

The outlet for the dryer.

For a second I thought my Dad was Kurt Russell from a "Beautiful Mind."

My Dad trying to get the fitting off. It only took him 100 curse words to get it off. (My father curses a lot when things are not working out).

This is our heater for right now!!

I bought this light over a month ago on my way home from the Bronx. Love IKEA!!

The pipes!!!

My Dad tightening everything up before we put up the sheet rock.

The sheet rock is up!!!!

So excited!!! Now I need to Spackle and sand about 100 times!!!! UGH!!!!!

New Favorite Store

This past weekend I found my new favorite store. It truly has everything you could possibly want or need.

If you have this store near you, you need to run there and see why it's so great!!!

If it's a bit of a drive it's well worth the ride.
If you travel up Route 33 to visit us (hint hint) you need to stop at the exit marked for route 248 Lower Nazareth.

The name of the store is Hobby Lobby!!
Hobbylobby.com

The store is a mix of Home Goods, Christmas Tree Shop, Michael's, and it has the best party supplies you could ask for.

If you would like to go let me know. I'll drive!!!!

Home Goods..Goods

So the kids and I traveled to Home Goods in Newton because a little birdie told me that it was opened. It wasn't :0(. I had an errand to run in that area so it was all good. I then traveled to Mount Olive area, good thing I know where most of the Home Goods are in the area. My goal was to get some things to make my office area a little cheerier. I'm really into this blog world and have so many ideas to share. A lot of businesses have started through blogging, that is what I am hoping. If you get my emails great, but it's ok to be a follower on my blog. I will start to have give aways and prizes only to my followers. It's also great to have people comment on my blog. (Whether you like the idea, don't like the idea, or have a better idea). I am begging you to be a follower!! Please!!! I promise some good ideas and funny things that happen to me a long the way. Plus wouldn't it be good to say that I was one of Janine's first followers (While you are watching me on Martha Stewart). I can dream can't I?

So I found these great colorful folders to store articles and ideas that I see. This fun notepad to jot down all my ideas. Which I already did for next week. The clip board well because it was a fun color and had my initial on it and this little notebook with post-its and page flag-its.

My little office is here for now. I would like a nice bulletin board to put on the wall to display things that interest me and that I want to share with you!!

So, you got two for the price of one today. I am off to spray paint, which means a nice buzz for me and the doggies. You'll have to wait and see what I am doing later in the week, but the next person who follows me on my blog will receive one of the things I am making. So go ahead. Get on my blog and follow me. For the few that are already following me thank you and I will have an announcement on Sunday about followers.

Planning vs. Sale

In the past I always planned ahead what we were going to have for dinner for the week. That was when it was just Tom and I and we were both commuting to and from NJ. I also planned ahead so I could cook most of the meals on Sunday morning, so when we got home from work I would just have to re-heat the dinner or cook the meal for a few minutes.
Lately I find that I only buy what is on sale for the week. Then each day I cook whatever we have on hand. I enjoy creating things from what I have around the house. Sometimes I forget to pull meat out of the freezer, so then I have to make either something vegetarian or pasta.
For some reason, last Sunday we didn't get a newspaper (probably snow) and I didn't get my Shop Rite circular in the mail either. So I was in trouble. I enjoy looking at the circulars/flyers and picking out what to get. I am a planner!! I enjoy being that way, plus if I have a list it's just easier when I am taking the kids food shopping with me.
So with no circular what was a girl to do? Yes, I could have gone on-line but I like to have the paper in hand. I decided to go back to my old way and plan out the menus for the week. I also wanted to go to Wegman's. So during the kids nap yesterday I went to town looking through my cookbooks picking out the menu for the week and writing down the ingredients I would need.
Here is the menu for the week:
Sunday: Turkey Loaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans
Monday: Couscous salad with roasted vegetables, and chick peas
Tuesday: Chili Chicken Salad lettuce wrap
Wednesday: Brown Rice Bowl with Shrimp, Snow peas, and Avocado
Thursday: Lighter Beef Chili
Friday: Pizza
We always have enough so please feel free to stop by!!
So is it cheaper to plan or shop on sale. Well, when I shop for things on sale I usually spend about $75.00. Yesterday at Wegman's I spent about $100.00. I did buy a few things that only Wegman's has and the quality of food is so much better.
So, for me it pays to shop for what's on sale vs. planning ahead. But when I do go to Wegman's maybe once every six weeks I feel it's ok to spend a little bit more.
We always have enough so please feel free to stop by.
PS I always make cookies for the kids and the cookie for the week is Heart Sandwich Cookies but instead of a heart shape I think we will do butterflies!!
XOXOXO
